New neighbors

Posted by billbryant on 11th November 2011

Uprooted and transplanted from Florida, Steve & Nancy Dunfee are “almost” neighbors. Their new cabin being built on Callalantee Drive is nearing completion. Through the amazing generousity of another neighbor Doug & June Gunden, the Dunfee’s have been able to stay on the mountain for the last week to oversee the final details. Welcome Steve & Nancy.

Happy New Year!

Posted by admin on 21st January 2011

From Callalantee Property Owners Association

We had a fabulous Christmas on the mountain. Lots of snow and fun in the forest. Neighbors were helping neighbors getting up/down the mountain and to the grocery store. We give a huge thank you to Weldon Bell, Craig Saelinger, Bruce Boyett and our newest plow-ready association member Steve Grange for keeping the roads open. AND we are so grateful for David Owens, our plowing contractor, for doing the excellent job of scraping all the roads in Callalantee several times. And another thank you to Hunter Terry for negotiating our annual contract for snow removal.

Today, the Boyetts went to the gates to remove the Christmas wreaths our association puts up each year and found they had already been taken down. Whoever did it, thanks, but we keep the ribbons and they were gone too.  If anyone knows where the ribbons went please call Lanell at

423-727-0539…just so we can clear up the mystery.

Boyetts hosted a great New Year’s Eve party at their cabin. Great food and fellowship. Always fun getting together with our mountain neighbors. We welcomed and got to know new cabin owners Ron, Nancy & Laura Robinson. If you didn’t get an eVite invitation please let Bruce Boyett know your current email address at jbboyett@earthlink.net

Several groups got together over the holidays to do a little 4-wheeling and had a beautiful ride through the woods on virgin snow. Doesn’t get much better.

Please, this winter, be careful on the snowy and/or rainy roads. Salt buckets have been put out on Cherokee, one of our most potentially dangerous roads.  4WD is a must in the winter otherwise leave your vehicles at the bottom of the mountain and call  a neighbor for help.

We are still shopping and accepting proposals for adding (real) security cameras at both gates. We haven’t had any break-ins or burglaries but we’d rather be proactive than reactive

Nancy & I are leaving the mountain this week for a few months in Florida. We look forward to our return in March or April. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, I am available by email falconjs1@yahoo.com – cell phone 772/473-9663 – or go to the Callalantee website at www.heavenlymountain.org  There is a blog set up where members can post photos too. Our Web designer Dan Moore can help you get in the loop at 239/210-1448.

Best regards,

 Bill Bryant, President
