New Year’s Eve party at the Grange cabin went well. We had 30+ Callalantee friends and their families that attended. There was plenty of food, drink, good conversation and a party mood from all.

Posted by billbryant on 11th November 2011

Our own Gwen Bell was applauded in a Letter to the Editor in the Wed, Nov 9, 2011, Tomahawk. Writer Karla Prudhomme wrote in to tell of a friend who needed heating oil at her home after a release from the hospital. After a call to Gwen
Bell, volunteer facilitator of Seniors Heating Assistance, oil was being delicvered to the home of the friend in need. Thank you to Gwen and the many citizens, churches and businesses in Johnson County who generously contribute to the fund.

in response to Nancy Bryant regarding adding a photo

Posted by Nancy Robinson on 11th January 2011

Hi Nancy,

Under dashboard, select the media drop-down button, then select add new.  It will prompt you to select your pictures to be uploaded.  I added a picture I took a few weeks ago from the loft in my house to make sure of how it worked.

Hope this helps!

Happy New Year 2011 from Callalantee POA

Posted by Nancy Bryant on 8th January 2011

We had a fabulous Christmas on the mountain. Lots of snow and fun in the forest. Neighbors were helping neighbors getting up/down the mountain and to the grocery store. We give a huge thank you to Weldon Bell, Craig Saelinger, Bruce Boyett and our newest “plow-ready” association member Steve Grange for keeping the roads open. AND we are so grateful for our plowing contractor David Owens for doing the excellent job of scraping all the roads in Callalantee several times over the holidays. Also thank you to Hunter Terry for negotiating our annual contract for snow removal.

Boyetts hosted a great New Year’s Eve party at their cabin. Tasty food and wonderful fellowship. Always fun getting together with our mountain neighbors. We welcomed new cabin owners Ron, Nancy & Laura Robinson. If you didn’t get an eVite invitation please let Bruce Boyett know your current email address so you won’t be missed next time. jbboyett@earthlink.net

Please, this winter, be careful on the dnowy and/or rainy roads. Salt buckets have been put out on Cherokee, one our most potentially dangerous roads. 4WD is a MUST in the winter, otherwise leave your vehicles at the bottom of the mountain and call a neighbor for help.

We are still shopping and accepting proposals for adding (real) security cameras at both gates. We haven’t had any break-ins or burglaries but we’d rather be pro-active than re-active.

Nancy & I are leaving the mountain this week for a few months in Florida We look forward to our return in early April. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, I am available by email at falconjs1@yahoo.com — cell phone at 772/473-9663 (it’s posted incorrectly on website :( ) — or go to the Callalantee website at www.heavenlymountain.org There is a blog set up where members can post comments and photos. Our Web designer Dan Moore can help you get in the loop at 239/210-1448.

Best regards
