Bruce & Lanell Boyett, their daughter, son in law and two grandchildren are counting their blessings after they were involved in a near fatal accident on I-95 near Daytona Beach, FL. They were on their way to DisneyWorld when a crazy driver came down the ramp onto the highway going at an enormous speed on the shoulder of the road. The driver hit the car behind Boyett’s which then hit their car, put them into a spin and their car rolled 4 times sliding down an embankment. They were banged up and bruised with a broken finger on their grandson. Praise the Lord for their safety. The Boyett’s are in North Carolina for the winter and will be back on the mountain in the spring.

Uprooted and transplanted from Florida, Steve & Nancy Dunfee are “almost” neighbors. Their new cabin being built on Callalantee Drive is nearing completion. Through the amazing generousity of another neighbor Doug & June Gunden, the Dunfee’s have been able to stay on the mountain for the last week to oversee the final details. Welcome Steve & Nancy.

Our own Gwen Bell was applauded in a Letter to the Editor in the Wed, Nov 9, 2011, Tomahawk. Writer Karla Prudhomme wrote in to tell of a friend who needed heating oil at her home after a release from the hospital. After a call to Gwen
Bell, volunteer facilitator of Seniors Heating Assistance, oil was being delicvered to the home of the friend in need. Thank you to Gwen and the many citizens, churches and businesses in Johnson County who generously contribute to the fund.
